The Whispering Deck

The Whispering Deck is a detailed, campaign-inspiring magical item for Dungeon World in the spirit of the deck of many things. Based on the real-world Decktet, this supplement details the deck’s forty-five cards, and what they do, encountered singly or as part of a drawing ritual.

Rather than encountering the deck all at once, the deck is usually scattered, with the PCs encountering one card at a time. Over time, they may decide to hunt down the whole deck and conduct a drawing ritual with potentially world- (and certainly campaign-) altering consequences.

This version of the whispering deck expands and cleans up an older version, adding updated mechanics, artwork, and numerous “campaign seeds”, suggesting ways the deck may intrude on a campaign, even if the players aren’t collecting cards.
